SurfaceTech Australia Pty Ltd provides a warranty to the customer in respect of the Gtechniq product applied to the vehicle on the Terms & Conditions set out below.
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ALL GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS
Vehicle must be continuously registered within Australia.
- Any treatment or re-treatment of Gtechniq Products must be applied / reapplied by an Authorised Accredited Gtechniq Applicator. If any treatment, repair or other work is carried out on the vehicle without Surfacetech Australia or an Accredited Gtechniq Agents prior written authorisation, the warranty will be invalid.
- Gtechniq Accredited Agents must be notified of failure of products performance within 30 days of occurrence. Failure to notify a Gtechniq Agent within 30 days will relieve Surfacetech Australia and Gtechniq Accredited Agents of all responsibilities under this warranty.
- The customer shall have the vehicle inspected every 12 months from the anniversary of the application date, plus or minus 30 days.
- The customer shall have the vehicle inspected at either a Gtechniq Store or an authorised Gtechniq Agent. Authorised Gtechniq Agents may at their discretion charge for their service; a visit by a Gtechniq representative will incur a fee.
- The customer shall undertake further application of Gtechniq products to the vehicle as are recommended by Gtechniq or by the Authorised Gtechniq Agent during inspection.
- Vehicle must be inspected and re-treated when due as per the terms of the warranty.
- The Warranty is Non-Transferable, and only applicable to the original purchaser.
- The Warranty is governed by laws of New South Wales and Gtechniq and the customer agrees to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales in respect to any dispute arising in respect of the warranty.
GENERAL EXCLUSIONS FOR ALL GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS
- Customer neglect. i.e. Failure to maintain due care of the treated surface will result in the warranty becoming nul and void.
- Pre-existing damage or deterioration is excluded from this warranty.
- Terms and Conditions are not adhered to.
- Exposure to abnormal & harsh chemicals.
- Failure to repair & retreat damaged sections.
- Damages caused by modifications to the vehicle e.g. mirrors, roof racks, etc....
- Areas not treated with Gtechniq products.
- Any claim in respect of damage caused by unusual atmospheric conditions including not limited to hail, salt spray or harsh chemicals.
- Any claims for matters which are covered by a warranty provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of manufacturers imperfections.
WARRANTY APPLYING TO GTECHNIQ PAINT COATINGS
Warranty
C1 Crystal Lacquer - New & Used Vehicles, applied before 31st December 2021, Three (3) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections
C1 Crystal Lacquer - New & Used Vehicles, applied after 1st January 2022, Five (5) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections
Crystal Serum Light - New & Used Vehicles, Five (5) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections
Crystal Serum - New & Used Vehicles, Seven (7) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections
Crystal Serum Ultra - New & Used Vehicles, Nine (9) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections
Gtechniq will safeguard the treated surface under the terms and conditions listed below should the treated factory painted surfaces be damaged by colour fading or loss of gloss from the sun’s harmful UV rays, Gtechniq will repair or clean (at its option) any failed section and retreat the damaged area at no cost to the owner providing that the owner maintains the vehicle in the manner described under the Gtechniq Car Care page and adheres to the terms & conditions within this warranty.
Warranty Conditions and Exclusions
- In the event of damage to the factory painted surface caused by collision, accident, vandalism or abuse, the vehicle must be taken to an authorised Gtechniq Application Centre for re-treatment after the required repairs are completed, at the owners or insurer’s expense. The owner must present their Warranty Card and the authentication code so it may receive an updated endorsement of the treatment.
- This warranty does not cover stone chipping, surface rust, marring, abnormal chemical fallout or spillage, untreated panel repairs or replacement, water spotting, scratching, abrasions, manufactures imperfections or paint imperfections such as paint flaking, peeling, foreign matter in paint, orange peel or clear coat separation.
- To maintain the validity of this Warranty the vehicle must be presented to an authorised Gtechniq Applicator or Dealer within thirty (30) days before or after the first anniversary of treatment application and thereafter on each subsequent anniversary.
- This warranty is only valid when the Warranty Number, Activation Number, Customers Details and Vehicle Details have been registered online and only valid if the registration is completed within 30 days of the product application date.
Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim this warranty is limited to the below maximum amounts at SurfaceTech Australia’s option.
- SurfaceTech Australia or Gtechniq Agents shall arrange for the successful claim area to be cleaned, repaired, rejuvenated or repainted and retreated with Gtechniq Paint Coating at no charge to the customer; or
- Pay the maximum amount of $1,500.00 in full and final settlement of the customers claim under warranty.
OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLYING TO THE WARRANTY OFFERED IN RESPECT OF GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS
- The warranty is only valid if the Customer & Vehicle information section is completed at the time that the Gtechniq product is applied and if full details have been registered online within 30 days of the product application date.
- Any claim under the warranty must be notified via email or writing to SurfaceTech Australia Pty Ltd within 30 days of the customer first becoming aware of any matter giving rise to a claim in regards to any Gtechniq Products.
- The warranty is only valid if:
- Following notification of a claim the vehicle is made available for SurfaceTech Australia’s inspection at its office (or such other place as SurfaceTech Australia may nominate) at a time mutually convenient to SurfaceTech Australia and the Customer, such time during normal business hours (9.00am – 5.00pm EST, Monday to Friday) ; and
- The vehicle is subsequently made available to SurfaceTech Australia or such other person/s as SurfaceTech Australia may stipulate in order that any treatment, cleaning, repair or other work may be undertaken.
- Approval in writing must be obtained by the customer from SurfaceTech Australia before undertaking any work covered by the warranty. All work covered by the warranty must be undertaken by SurfaceTech Australia, an Authorised Gtechniq Agent or such person as SurfaceTech Australia may nominate. If any treatment, cleaning, repair or other work is carried out on the vehicle without SurfaceTech Australia’s written authorisation first being obtained, the warranty will automatically be invalidated.
- In the event that the vehicle is involved in an accident which involves damage to an area treated by a Gtechniq product, the warranty only remains valid if the affected areas of the Vehicle are repaired and then retreated by SurfaceTech Australia or an authorised Gtechniq agent with the relevant Gtechniq Products at the customers expense; the re-application of the Gtechniq Paint Coating should be performed after vehicle paint has been allowed to settle for at least 7 days.
- Warranty excludes the following claims:
- Any claim in respect of matters pre-existing at the time of the application of the Gtechniq Product.
- Any claim in respect of any Gtechniq Product applied other than by SurfaceTech Australia or a Gtechniq Accredited Agent.
- Any claim arising from the customer failing to properly maintain the vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of acts of vandalism or arising out of an accident involving the vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of manufacturers imperfections.
- Any claim arising from the vehicle being operated in a manner contrary to the manufacturers recommendations.
- Any claim in respect of damage resulting from the use of the vehicle in a competition or motor sporting event, or where the vehicle is used on a beach, or in off-road driving conditions, or for the launching of boats or other marine vessels for other than occasional recreation use.
- Any claim in respect of the load area of a commercial vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of a vehicle which has been subject to other than normal wear and tear.
- Any claim where the vehicle has not been maintained in accordance with the Gtechniq Customer Care Page and Instructions.
- Any claim in respect of damage caused by unusual atmospheric conditions including but not limited to hail, salt spray or harsh chemicals.
- Any claim in respect of damage caused by acid, dyes, inks, bleachers, paint, and lubricants, caustic or corrosive materials.
- Any claim in respect of the tray area of utilities.
- Any claim in respect of any area of the vehicle which has not been treated with the appropriate Gtechniq Product, or at the customer’s request.
- Any claim arising from the installation of aftermarket parts and/or accessories including without limitation mirrors, luggage racks and mudflats.
- Any claim in respect of surface rust, rust damage caused by moister trapped under trims and rubber mouldings or decorations.
- Any claim in respect of rust appearing above the window line of the vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of damage to the paintwork caused by stone chips, rust or corrosion (where the area of the vehicle has not been treated with Gtechniq Products), abnormal chemical fall out or spillage, petrol spillage, scratching, abrasion, fire, panel repair or replacement.
- Any claim in respect of deterioration to the paint work caused by the use of cleaning agents other than those commercially available for cleaning paintwork of private passenger vehicles.
- Any claim in respect of paint chipping, grazing, peeling or paint separation.
- Any claim in respect of damage caused by acid, dye, oil based paints, bleach or other corrosive substances.
- Any claim in respect of damage caused by cigarette or cigar burns.
- Any claim for matters which are covered by a warranty provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
- Any claim in respect of surface rust resulting from chips, scratches or other damage to the paintwork of the vehicle.
- The warranty shall immediately become null and void if any of the following occur;
- If any panel or parts of the vehicle that would normally be treated under AS266/2 have been modified from the manufacturer’s specification.
- If the vehicle has been subject to inundation / flood.
- If the vehicle is at any time not registered for use on the roads of an Australian State or Territory.
- If the vehicle leaves the Commonwealth of Australia; or
- If the customer has been advised to have the vehicle retreated with Gtechniq Products or undertakes other work at an inspection and the customer has failed to do so.
- The granting of the warranty is conditional upon payment in full by the customer for the application of the relevant Gtechniq Product.
- The above warranty does not exclude any conditions or warranties which are made mandatory by legislation, however other than as imposed by law, the terms and conditions of the warranty are wholly contained within this webpage / document and all other warranties to the extent permissible by law are expressly excluded.
- To the extent to which it is permissible, the liability of SurfaceTech Australia and Gtechniq Agents to the customer other than pursuant to the warranty contained within this webpage / document is limited to the re-application of the appropriate Gtechniq Products.
- If any of the provisions of the warranty are contrary to, prohibited by, or held invalid under any application law, that provision shall be considered inapplicable and omitted, but shall not invalidate the remaining provisions.
- Electronic device warranty is that which is issued by the individual devices manufactures. No other warranty is expressed or implied.
